How we started:

#1Pools opened in June 2008 and was based out of Silver Spring, MD. As the business began to grow, the need for more warehouse space was necessary. In 2016, we relocated to Mount Airy, MD. We strive to provide our customers the best pool service possible. We want them to enjoy a carefree sun & fun filled summer. For many of us, summer is our only opportunity for socializing & recreating with our friends and families. We want to be a part of creating those memories. We offer pool care services for our customers to enjoy a care free swim season. We have learned through the years that perfecting one thing can matter most. This is why we only specialize in pool service/maintenance & repairs. #1Pools represents quality pool care service. Many of #1Pools customers have been with Keith since his days Anthony Pools. They know that #1Pools is a foundation built based on honesty & integrity.

At #1Pools our mission is to provide personable, reliable, quality pool service to communities throughout the DC, Metro, & Baltimore areas. We pride ourselves on trust, integrity & attention to detail that sets us apart from any others.

Khlorine Keith is the owner of #1Pools. Khlorine Keith has been in the pool industry since 1987. He started at Anthony Pools In Rockville, MD. At Anthony he learned everything there is to know about in-ground pools, pool equipment, & the pool trade industry. He learned that he loves working outside and being a part of his community. He relishes in the demand for pool service & gets a lot of self satisfaction meeting this demand. He enjoys the pool trade business and always seeking to learn more about new and better aquatic products as technology is always changing. He finds fulfillment & gratification solving problems & technical challenges. Khlorine Keith treasures the relationships he has built with his customers and community. In Khlorine Keith’s down time he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, magic shows, working on corvettes, & watching football & softball.

Evan has been with #1Pools since 2013. He is our “man with the plan” when it comes to quality pool care. He has mastered the art of pool chemistry & is very passionate about maintaining the safety & functionality of swimming pools. #1Pools is lucky to have him here. Evan knows how to complete a job and is very dedicated and honest. When Evan is not working, he is gardening in his back yard or at a car show event. Evan loves spicy peppers and hot cars. We love Evan.

Jonas Yockelson has been around #1pools since he was a little guy and has learned pretty much everything from his dad. Much like his dad, Jonas enjoys working outside and problem solving. Jonas will be graduating this fall, 2025, from Colorado Mesa with a degree in Landman/Energy Management. When Jonas is not in school or working, he is traveling all over the US racing BMX or enjoying a long hike. When he’s not on the go, you can catch him relaxing with his dogs & chickens.

Renee Yockelson has been with #1Pools since the start, she even thought of the name. Renee keeps Keith in line & handles invoicing & billing. When she is not at work for #1Pools, she is a crossing guard for Montgomery County Police Department and has been for almost 20 years. She’s also a mother of 3 (4 if you count Keith). In her downtime she enjoys camping, pottery, & roller skating.

Piper Yockelson has also been with #1Pools for a long time. She is a major asset to this business with her common sense and logic. Piper will be graduating this spring, 2026, from Marian University, where she is also a D1 cyclist for her school. Her major is biology & minor in chemistry with specialization in environmental science. When Hyper Piper is not at school, competing, or working, she is biking, hiking, swimming, boating, fishing, or snoozing.

Ben started with #1Pools in June of 2022. Ben has been a major contribution to this business. There is nothing that Ben can’t do and he takes a lot of pride in doing his job right. When Ben is not at work, you will find him in his garage listening to football and tinkering on anything from automobiles to woodworking. Ben is a true “jack of all trades”. His favorite team, of course, Washington Commanders.

Russell is the newest edition to our #1Pools family, he started this June 2025 and is the peanut butter to our jelly. It’s really working out great. He is learning everything from Evan and progressing quickly. Russell is very passionate about sunscreen and skin care. We are excited about Russell and his future here at #1Pools. In Russell’s down time, he enjoys gaming, moisturizing, & ultimate Frisbee.
